Dr. Sung is conducting clinical and laboratory studies evaluating a variety of dental materials, as well as developing advances in laser dentistry and its application in clinical care. In the area of Hospital Dentistry, Dr. Sung's group is constantly looking at and evaluating oral conditions in hospitalized patients, to determine interactions with chronic and acute medical conditions, and how these patients may be better managed for both their oral and medical health. Future plans include the expansion of these clinical trials and the development of institutional and private-sector funding to support these projects.
