"Deformities of the head and neck region resulting from cancer treatment, congenital malformation or traumatic injuries can be devastating on physical structure and function  and frequently result in severe compromises in quality of life.  Rehabilitation is a complex process best achieved through a multidisciplinary approach combining advanced surgical and prosthetic reconstructive procedures.  One of our goals at the Weintraub Center is to evaluate the outcomes of various treatments through randomized clinical trials and  develop  new novel approaches that will further push the envelope.”

1. Evaluation of oral function in partially and completely edentulous patients
2. Use of osseointegrated implants in patients with severe bone resorption
3. Survival rates of implants in free flap mandibular reconstruction
4. Long term follow-up of implants retaining maxillary obturator prostheses
5. Efficacy of craniofacial implants used to retain facial prostheses
6. Functional evaluation of head and neck cancer patients following surgical reconstruction and implant retained prosthetic rehabilitation
